The Historians among you will not be disappointed either. Javea old town is steeped in history, with tosca stone porticoes, gothic bay windows, wrought iron window bars and balcony railings. The church of San Bartolemé in Javea town centre is a wonderful example of late gothic with a defensive character. You will also find the "Soler Blasco" Archaeological Museum close by in the narrow streets which offers a wealth of information about the Iberian history.

Benitachell is a lovely little Spanish town between Teulada and Javea. Benitachell has become very popular as a place to live all year round with many different nationalities. Several urbanisations surround Benitachell, the largest of which is the Cumbre del Sol.

The Cumbre del Sol (Mountain of the Sun) is an exclusive residential area on the edge of Benitachell, situated on the coast approximately 15 minutes from Javea. The views from Cumbre del Sol across the Mediterranean are superb and on most days you can see the Balearic Islands. It is an area of extraordinary beauty and tranquility untouched by mass tourism. It has its own secluded beach and many uniquely designed pools which are for the exclusive use of residents and guests only. The area has good amenities serviced by a good quality international supermarket, excellent restaurants, bars, banks, pharmacy and a host of other shops. For the more energetic there are also tennis courts and a horse riding centre.

Then about 45 minutes drive from Javea you have all the attractions of Spain's largest tourist resort in Benidorm with it's themeparks (Terra Mitica), shopping, golf courses and water parks. Get wet and wild at Aqualandia water park, or take in the Spectacular dinner show at Benidorm Palace.
